Scott Weiss, will present Usable Products Company’s multimedia video clip set, “Keyboard Trouble.” This presentation will be comprised of clips harvested from 260 hours of usability videos recorded during the “Media Download Usability” study’s testing phase. If time allows, he’ll cover some of the details of how the usability study was conceived and the quantitative data analyzed.

Scott Weiss, Principal and Founder of Usable Products Company, is an Information Architect and author of Handheld Usability (John Wiley & Sons: 2002). Scott has moderated usability interviews and designed user interfaces for the past 16 years. He worked in the software industry for seven years designing software and managing software projects prior to forming Usable Products in 1996. His former employers include Microsoft, Apple, Sybase, and Autodesk. Scott received his BS in Engineering: Human Interface Design from Stanford University.

Sandy Fershee specializes in user interface design for wireless devices. She’s worked as a lead designer for next generation mobile phones at Motorola, and earlier at Razorfish, focused her craft on anything mobile. She currently provides user centered design services to companies such as Motorola, MTV and start-ups developing wireless products and applications. She always looks to bring warmth, simplicity and beauty to technology.

Bryan Haggerty is an associate user experience specialist at
JPMorgan Chase in the global credit risk management division. As part
of the user experience team he is involved in designing and
collaborating on user interfaces, standards, and usability testing.
Prior to working at JPMorgan Chase Bryan worked as a research
assistant investigating new text entry methods for mobile devices.
Bryan holds a bachelor’s degree in information science from
Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts.
