Stephen Wellman, Editor-in-Chief, Over The Air - InformationWeek
Stephen Wellman is Editor-in-Chief for Over The Air, the InformationWeek blog dedicated to business mobility. He is also Editor for Grok on Google, the only email newsletter that chronicles the Web’s leading agent of change. He is a well-known wireless industry journalist, analyst, and editor with extensive experience in e-mail newsletters and other forms of online content.
Wellman most recently served as Editorial Director for FierceMarkets and Executive Editor of FierceWireless, a daily email newsletter that covers the wireless industry. In his capacity as editor of FierceWireless, Wellman served as chairman for numerous wireless and telecom industry events, including the Wireless LAN Event, VoIP World, the Symbian Expo, wVoIP 2005, and the Broadband Wireless Innovation Awards. He has also spoken at such major events as CeBit Americas, Supercomm, and CTIA. Wellman has also been featured as a noted speaker at other high-profile conferences including the Internet Society’s 12th Annual INET 2002 Conference and business strategy seminars at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the Robert H. Smith School of Business of the University of Maryland.
Prior to his positions with FierceMarkets, Mr. Wellman worked with media ASP Vocus where he served as Editorial Director, and online e-tailer VarsityBooks.com, where he helped develop online content and marketing strategy.
Stephen Woram, Founder & President, AuditMatic
Stephen Woram is the founder and president of Form Automation Solutions, Inc. (FAS), based in Dallas, TX. FAS develops and markets AuditMatic, a subscription-model mobile data collection and task management solution for mobile workers. Stephen is a technology entrepreneur who, in the last ten years, has launched two other thriving companies: Industrial Networking Solutions (www.industrialnetworking.com) and COI Software, Inc. (www.coisoftware.com) Stephen and his wife Dana have one-year old twins: Andrew and Caroline.
Jim Welch, Dexterra
Has been with Dexterra for 2 ½ years serving in a direct role for the 1st 2 years and for the current 6 months has been focused on the channel and business development program in the Northeast. In his current role, Jim works
- with System Integrators to deliver mobility solutions to the enterprise,
- with OEM’s who use Dexterra as the foundation for their domain specific mobile offerings, and
- with VAR’s who integrate Dexterra into a comprehensive mobile offering.
Prior to Dexterra, for 3 years Jim was the founder and EVP Sales of Solas technologies a company that delivers process engineering solutions and the technology to support business continuity for large enterprise. Jim maintains his affiliation with Solas to this day.
Jim was an instrumental part of the sales teams first as a technologist directing presales teams and then as a direct sales rep and later regional VP of sales for CRM companies including Rubric, Siebel, Scopus Technologies and Sybase. Back in the day it was even rumored that Jim could write code.
Sergey Fradkov, Co-Founder, DynoPlex, Inc
Sergey Fradkov has 20 years of Information Technology experience developing software in large and small enterprises. As an entrepreneur, Mr. Fradkov has founded several hi-tech software companies, whose products were sold to multiple clients worldwide. As a software executive, he conceived and executed development of innovative software products and solutions. As an IT consultant, he advised clients and executed projects in variety of industries, including financial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and education.
Mr. Fradkov is the co-founder of DynoPlex, Inc., the Wireless Document Management company. He designed and managed the development of the company’s products – leading wireless document management solution for RIM BlackBerry and other devices. Products sold by DynoPlex are currently positioned at the top of Handango Bestsellers list for BlackBerry.
He was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at w-Technologies. Mr. Fradkov was responsible for the overall strategy and development of w-Technologies’ wireless application software products for the company’s Fortune 500 clients, which include FedEx, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and First Union, among others. In 1998, Mr. Fradkov developed and introduced w-Technologies’ wireless development platform Mobilero, which can support all of an organization’s mobile business initiatives and integrate with existing computing systems and applications.
Mr. Fradkov’s work has been featured in leading industry publications, and he is also a frequent speaker at conferences and events. He holds a joint BS/MS from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University.
Vishy Gopalakrishnan, Founder & CTO, Mobility Partners LLC
Vishy Gopalakrishnan is a Founder and CTO at Mobility Partners, LLC - an advisory firm focused on helping enterprises use wireless mobility to achieve business transformation and enhance their competitive advantage. He drives the solution portfolio for Mobility Partners and works actively with customers to envision and deploy wireless mobility solutions.
He is a co-author of the #1 best seller on business mobility “Work Goes Mobile – Nokia’s Lessons from the Leading Edge”. This book traces Nokia’s journey in leveraging mobile technologies to transform itself into a truly mobile enterprise and provides practical insights to help other enterprises realize the true benefits of mobility.
Prior to co-founding Mobility Partners, Vishy worked for Nokia’s Enterprise Solutions group, where he was the global head of the Advisory and Application Mobility practice in the Professional Services team. He worked with Global 1000 customers help create mobility strategies, deploy line of business mobile applications, and understand the implication of wireless mobility on IT operations. He was also involved in driving thought leadership activities, in collaboration with leading institutions like Stanford University.
He came to Nokia from Capgemini, where he served as the head of the Americas mobility solutions practice. In this capacity, Vishy was responsible for managing all go-to-market aspects for the practice, including the solutions portfolio, business development, and alliance management. He also served as Capgemini’s global representative on the Microsoft Mobility Partner Advisory Council (MPAC). Before coming to Capgemini, Vishy worked for Motorola’s Cellular Infrastructure Group.
He has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina.
Mark Chellis, Director of Carrier and Channel Marketing - Enterprise Mobility, Motorola
Mark Chellis is director of carrier and channel marketing for Motorola’s Enterprise Mobility business. He is responsible for marketing Motorola’s Enterprise products with wireless carriers and Motorola’s channel partners. Mark’s career has included senior marketing and business development roles with Smith International, Hewlett Packard, Unisys, and several startups within the technology sector. Mark has served on several National Science Foundation committees and has been focused on helping turn technological breakthroughs into tangible customer business solutions. He is a frequent panelist and speaker on Enterprise Mobility and marketing.
Mark joined Motorola in 2005. He holds degrees from Michigan State University and has served as Associate Professor of Computer Science at Mercy College in Detroit. Mark resides in Long Island, New York, with his wife and daughter.
John Yrigoyen, Director, Wireless Solutions, NEC Unified Solutions
John Yrigoyen (Air-i-goy-en) is the Director of Wireless Solutions for NEC Unified Solutions North America. Yrigoyen is responsible for the validation and entry of converged 802.11 Mobility Solutions into the NEC Sales Channels and ensuring sales readiness and support.
Other responsibilities include working cross departmentally with and guiding Product Management, Marketing, Engineering and Operations to ensure that NEC delivers the industry’s best Wireless Solutions from design to implementation.
Yrigoyen joined NEC in 2005 in an engineering role and has over 15 years of networking and wireless expertise working for communications companies such as MCI, SBC and Cisco. Mr. Yrigoyen brings a multitude of skills and disciplines to NEC’s Wireless practice and holds numerous industry certifications.
